CANDIDATE ENTERS RACE FOR UCP IN EDMONTON WEST-HENDAY
Lance Coulter announced today he’s seeking the nomination to become the United Conservative Party (UCP) candidate in the new provincial riding of Edmonton West-Henday.
“It might be April Fool’s Day, but it’s no joke — I’m very serious about winning the nomination and taking the seat for the UCP,” said Coulter, 27, who has experience on both federal Conservative and provincial Conservative election campaigns.
“What IS a joke is how the NDP is ruining this great province,” said Coulter. “We were debt-free under Ralph Klein and now with the out-of-control spending by Premier Rachel Notley and her Finance Minister Joe Ceci it’s predicted we’re headed for a $96-billion debt. That’s crazy and it’s our children that will be left to pick up that tab.”
Coulter served in the Canadian Armed Forces and gained valuable political experience working on Kerry Diotte’s successful 2015 election campaign in the federal riding of Edmonton Griesbach.
As well, Coulter worked on now-UCP Leader Jason Kenney’s campaigns and knows the oil patch inside out having worked as a wireline operator for several years.
“We need to bring back the Alberta Advantage and get rid of the NDP that’s wrecking this province,” said Coulter.
“It will take a lot of work, but I’m up for it and I’m encouraging everyone who feels the same way to join my campaign to help me win the nomination and go on to defeat the NDP,” he said.
